Summer Essential – Gladiator Sandals

One of the summer essentials this season are gladiator sandals, they can look both casual and dressy and look great with summer dress or shorts, and I also like to wear them with tunics and long dresses with high splits.

To prolong the legs I recommend getting gladiators with thin simple straps (no fringe, and no black ankle sandals, they shorten the legs and are a complete no-no if you are short or have wide ankles). I prefer tall gold or black gladiators.

My gladiators are by Cavalli and I bought them about 5 years old when this trend was not popular at all, but I am glad the trend is back and there are so many options available at any price point. My black gladiators are from Asos, also old collection but these are very similar from Stuart Weitzman or more affordable ones from Asos in iridescent colors.

The other gladiator sandals I highly recommend are from Aldo, they are very similar to Valentino but are very affordable, comfortable and chic. They were out of stock the past few weeks but are available again and have great reviews. I prefer them in gold. The other gold gladiators I see worn by other fashionistas that I like are from TopShop.

If you want fancy gladiator with the heel, check these by Schutz.

We are only half way through the summer, plus you can totally wear them into the fall! Happy Shopping!

Italy Venice

Venice is a city unlike any other. No matter how often you’ve seen it in photos and films, the real thing is more dreamlike than you could imagine. It was very romantic to walk its narrow streets and bridges and take gondola rides on Venice canals. I got into a character and wore this striped set to coordinate with those cute gondoliers 🙂

Shop similar body-conscious striped sets from these sites:

ASOS dress (my favorite option)

ASOS / River Island / Nordstrom / Diane von Furstenberg / DKNY

By the lake

I am looking forward to spend my summer weekends by the lake. All is needed for the casual chic look is a good pair of high waist sailor shorts, paired with any nautical stripes top and a boater hat.

To shop the look: Shorts / Top similar here and here / Boater hat by Topshop sold out (similar by JCrew)
