Italian Riviera

Italian Riviera scenery has been an inspiration to many Italian designers like Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli for years. How could you not fall in love with this beautiful place and draw an inspiration from the sea, the yachts, the fishing villages, the colorful coastline.

Portofino, Portovenere and villages of Cinque Terre – these destinations became associated with a certain look – the feminine, relaxed but thoroughly chic style of the Italian Riviera.

My most go to silhouettes were off the shoulder tops and open back dresses and for colors – white, blues, yellows and off course stripes.

Shop these looks:

1. Deep plunge maxi orange dress

2. Off the shoulder blue dress

3. Off the shoulder white blouse

4. Striped dress by JPG (vintage, but similar here)

5. Striped sequined dress by Dolce & Gabbana (vintage, can’t find similar)

6. White crochet dress was bought at the local store in Portofino, their website is

Transition to fall

It’s time to say a farewell to sweet summertime and an excited hello to fall! But don’t pack away your summer pieces just yet, with a few simple styling tricks you can take your favorite summer basics and transition them beautifully into the fall. These are my top picks:
  • Blazers. Blazers. Blazers. Can’t get enough of the them, wear them with shorts, skinny jeans, bell bottoms pants or summer dresses, anything goes…I like classic blazers from JCrew to wear with stripes tee and jeans or cape blazers from Lavish Alice
  • Also in style sleeveless blazers and vests, like these by  Topshop
  • The sleeveless drape coat I am wearing is from Asos (also sold by NEWLOOK)
  • For cooler fall days, I just got this amazing cape by Pierre Balmain
  • Scarves – love wearing bright bold scarves year round, it doubles as a saragon in the summer and scarf in the fall, and I like to tie the scarf with skinny belt, it makes any outfit.
  • Floppy hat or fedora hat, transitioning from straw to felt, Topshop has the best shapes.
  • Change your shoes – from flip flops and gladiators to pointy pumps and velvet loafers (check these by Rachel Zoe).  Also this fall season chunky heels are in style, I just bough these boots from Zara.
  • I also love chunky sweaters (check this open back one) or light cashmere cardigans with jeweled details from Saks, you can wear these sweaters with short skirts that will see a comeback this fall or skinny jeans; over a crisp white button up or tie around a neck over a simple white tee.
  • Also, for nail color I switch to grey nail polish, check Essie in Power Clutch and for lip color I switch to wine-hued lips, check Nars matte lipstick
  • Overall, change up color theme, aside from neutrals greys and beige that I have a lot in my closet, my go-to fall colors are navy and burgundy.

Happy Fall Shopping…

Central Park Adventure

On this last day of the summer we had an amazing time with my fellow fashionista friend and our kids at Central Park, stopping by Alice in Wonderland, Victoria Gardens amusement park, bike ride around the park, lunch at Loeb Boathouse, and even a Dolce Vita moment dancing in the fountain by Bethesda Terrace.

It was an amazing day filled with laughter and great memories.
