Cape is a stylish alternative to coats. Since they’ve been all over Fall runways, you need to add one to your wardrobe. Capes are unique, stylish and to keep warm you can wear them long gloves which is another fall trend. I like to pair a cape with over the knee boots (shop this post) or skinny jeans or leather pants.

Designer Capes: Pierre Balmain / Gareth Pugh / Dsquared / Saint Laurent

Affordable Capes : Zara / Asos /

Graphic Knit Capes: Century21/ Zara / BCBG / Asos / Nastygal /

A surprisingly versatile pants, also referred to as culottes are perfect compromise when you want the look of a skirt with the comfort of pants.  Culottes are loose enough to be comfy, but still retaining enough structure to appear polished. For fall weather, I especially like faux leather culottes that hit midway between the knee and the edge of the calf. The key is to show enough leg to lengthen the body and they should be worn with a high heels. I like that culottes are versatile for any occasion, you can wear it to work with a nice sleeveless blazer or to a Sunday brunch with a nice comfy cashmere turtleneck. My favorite look is to wear it with the crisp white button down shirt.

The highly anticipated collection from Balmain for H&M was sold out in a few hours. I got a chance to score these “luxury budget” items and I love them. The quality, the details, the beading is outstanding and when paired with shoes and accessories from other designers you can get a lot of amazing looks.

If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on this collection, I don’t blame you, but to get these exact items you can only get on eBay at this point, but I would not pay thousands for it, because for those prices you are better off getting a “real” Balmain.

Balmain x H&M items: Black velvet braided dress / Green shirt / Blue rope top / Yellow beaded top / Harem pants / Velvet Jacket

Chandelier Earrings / Bracelet

Designer Balmain items I love: Cape / Jumpsuit / Dress / Black wool Blazer / White Blazer
